Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Movers Harringay to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our own operations and throughout our supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a crime and a fundamental violation of human rights, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
Our Organisation
Movers Harringay is a removals and relocation business operating in the United Kingdom. Our services depend on a range of suppliers, including transport providers, equipment suppliers, facilities services and labour agencies. We understand that the risk of modern slavery can arise where there are complex supply chains, use of temporary labour or subcontracting, and we take our responsibility seriously to mitigate these risks.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, debt bondage, servitude and human trafficking. This policy applies to all employees, workers, contractors and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Movers Harringay. We expect everyone connected to our business to uphold the highest standards of conduct and to comply with all relevant legislation relating to employment, labour rights and human rights.
Any breach of this zero-tolerance policy is treated as a serious matter. For employees, this may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. For suppliers and contractors, it may lead to suspension of work, termination of contracts and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and demonstrate a responsible approach to labour practices. Our supplier expectations include the prohibition of forced, bonded or involuntary labour, child labour and any form of exploitation. We expect suppliers to provide safe and fair working conditions, pay lawful wages and respect the rights and dignity of workers.
To support this commitment, we review new suppliers before engagement and reserve the right to conduct risk-based checks and audits. These may include requesting evidence of labour policies, reviewing workforce arrangements and, where appropriate, site visits. For higher-risk categories of supply or regions, we may increase the level of scrutiny and require additional assurances or remedial action plans.
If a supplier is found to be involved in modern slavery, or fails to adequately address identified risks or non-compliance, we will consider appropriate steps, including corrective action requirements and, if necessary, ending the business relationship.
Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels
Movers Harringay is committed to promoting awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and key suppliers. We provide guidance to relevant staff so they can recognise indicators of exploitation, understand our policies and know how to respond to concerns. Managers with responsibility for procurement, recruitment and contractor oversight receive focused information on identifying and handling potential risks.
We encourage anyone working for or with Movers Harringay to speak up if they suspect that modern slavery may be taking place in any part of our business or supply chain. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers or senior management. Reports will be taken seriously, handled sensitively and investigated promptly, with appropriate confidentiality and protection for individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. Each year, Movers Harringay will review this Modern Slavery Statement, our associated policies and the effectiveness of our actions. This review will take into account feedback from stakeholders, audit findings, changes in our operations, regulatory developments and emerging best practice.
As part of our annual review, we will consider whether to enhance training, refine supplier due diligence, strengthen contractual provisions or introduce new monitoring measures. Where areas for improvement are identified, we will develop and implement appropriate action plans.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Movers Harringay and reflects our continuing commitment to operate as a responsible business that actively works to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms.
